Flora & Flour: Sat Nov 21
6:00pm–9:00pm
Bloom & Bean 1421 Shucker Cir Ste 1122, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464
The Flora Space and Nourishing Notes are teaming up for one special evening! Shape pasta by hand. Embroider a vintage linen. Gather around the table for dinner.
Join Nicci Morelli of The Flora Space and Julie Morelli of Nourishing Notes for Flour + Flora, an intimate evening of making, learning, and gathering around the table at Bloom & Bean in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
We’ll begin with a non-alcoholic beverage crafted by the talented team at Bloom & Bean and Italian-inspired bites and before getting to work with our hands.
EMBROIDERY WITH NICCI
Add simple hand-stitched details to a vintage linen with beginner-friendly guidance. Nicci will have vintage napkins for you to choose from but we encourage you to also bring your own! If you have linens that were handed down to you and maybe they’re in a closet and you’re not sure what to do with them, bring them with you. We love to hear the stories behind them (and encourage you to share if you’d like!) and Nicci can help guide you to add initials or a simple design to make these linens even more memorable as they continue to be passed down. Your linen and embroidery hoop are yours to take home so you can keep stitching after the evening ends.
PASTA WITH JULIE
Julie will lead us in an overview of regional pasta shapes throughout Italy and the influences she’s pulled from her family traditions and her travels to Italy. She’ll demonstrate how to mix a classic flour and water dough and then you’ll each learn to shape cavatelli and pici pastas by hand using traditional pasta-making techniques and tools. Julie doesn’t use a pasta machine you may be familiar with–she uses all handmade techniques that have quickly become a thing of the past. But she’s here to revive them!
At the end of class, we’ll gather around the table to enjoy handmade pasta with tomato sauce, a simple green salad, and time together.
Limited to 14 guests
Your ticket includes both hands-on experiences, all materials, welcome bites & beverage, and a light dinner. Bloom & Bean’s bar will also be open for additional drink purchases.
No pasta-making or embroidery experience needed! Just come ready to make something, learn something new, and enjoy a seat at the table.
Plus, $5 from every ticket will be donated to the Low Country Food Bank to help extend the table beyond our gathering.
We can’t wait to gather with you!
Age : 14 and up. Ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult
