Pasta for Gift Giving: Thur Dec 3
6:00pm – 8:00pm
Sauce & Bread Kitchen 6338 N. Clark St, Chicago 60660
Homemade gifts are the best gifts! This hands-on class will give you all the info you need to turn your pasta into a great gift. We’ll start with light snacks and a welcome drink, boozy or non-boozy. I’ll give you a brief overview of the best pasta doughs and shapes to use for drying. Then you’ll each make your own flour & water pasta dough and learn to shape Cavatelli and Orecchiette. I am obsessed with the traditional techniques, tools and the stories behind them and I can’t wait to share it with you.
All of the pasta you make is yours to take home for future gift giving. I’ll show how to dry your pasta at home and also send you with cute packaging and recipes for both the dough and a sauce. I’ll have some extra pasta made ahead of time so we can all enjoy a little pasta plate at the end of class.
The base for this pasta dough is the same that we’ve gone over in my Flour & Water class. If you’ve taken that class before, amazing! You’ll get more practice and there will be lots of additional new info about drying and packaging. And no worries if you haven’t taken a class with me before. This is geared towards pasta learners at all stages.
Be prepared to get a little messy! You’ll be using two of the very best kitchen tools…your hands! Don’t worry–aprons are provided. You’ll be on your feet most of the class so comfy shoes are encouraged.
Class size is capped at 10 students so you’ll get individual instruction from me and have lots of time to ask questions. Some parts of the class may be done in small groups of 2-4 to make sure we use all of our ingredients & equipment efficiently.
All sales are final and non-refundable. Should you not be able to make it you can transfer your ticket to a friend. Please email me 24 hr in advance to change the ticket name. I appreciate you and your support of my small business!
